JENNINGS COUNTY, Ind. (WISH) - Two men were arrested in Jennings County Wednesday after a yearlong investigation on the sales of prescription pain medication.
Investigators determined that David E. “Bear” Proffitt and Brandy L. Caudill delivered and sold large amounts of prescription pain medications in the community.
Search warrants were issued Wednesday on a residence and storage unit at a local facility. Officers seized several vehicles and recovered three handguns.
More arrests are expected in the investigation.
Proffitt and Caudill have both been preliminarily charged with dealing and conspiracy to deal in narcotics. More charges are expected.
Police say Proffitt has prior felony convictions and cannot own a handgun.
He also faces more charges after he grabbed an officer at the Jennings County Jail. The officer had to deploy his stun gun to stop Proffitt’s aggressive actions.
