INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) - Two Central Indiana teachers have received a prestigious award.
During an assembly Monday morning at North Central High School,
the Indiana Superintendent of Public Instruction announced English
department chair Edward Coleman won the Milken award. Coleman
received $25,000 as part of the award.
He said during the announcement that he thought one of his
co-workers had won the award and was trying to figure out who it
could have been.
"There are a lot of people. So I was going through the names of the people I work with, that I'm proud to work with, in my department and the school as a whole. Completely surprised by it, I had no idea this was coming at all," said Coleman.
Also caught off guard Monday was Gregory Lineweaver. He's an English/Humanities teacher at Herron High School.
