INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) - Governor Mitch Daniels promoted a new way to teach math, science, and other subjects in high school on Monday.

The new tech school model teaches learning through the creation of student projects linked to economic development.

The New Technology Foundation from Napa, California established the model and the KnowledgeWorks Foundation in Cincinnati awarded a $10 million grant in the governor's office. Some of that money will go to Indiana schools.

"I like to see us become the state of new technology education, math and science based, technology based, as they say, learning, focused on our economic future," said Gov. Daniels.

Six Indiana high schools currently use the new tech program, four more will begin in the fall.
