INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) - Indiana's biggest schools are now part of the Yellow Ribbon Program for veterans. Three of the schools, Purdue, Ball State and Indiana State signed up after our I-Team 8 investigation last month found some of Indiana's biggest state supported schools were not on the list.
The new program provides money for veterans to go to college after they return home from war. School money is then matched by the VA.
On Wednesday 20 universities and colleges attended a forum at the Indianapolis library held by Congressman Steve Buyer who challenged the schools to commit even further to the Yellow Ribbon program next year.
(Earlier versions of this story listed IUPUI as a school that signed up after our I-Team 8 investigation. Documents provided by IUPUI show that they were approved for the program before our original story aired.)
A health care battle is heating up in Washington and here in Indianapolis.
