INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) - One of the most storied schools in America is about to get a foothold on the future through an ambitious fundraiser.
Alumni of Crispus Attucks hope to raise $100,000 through a brick sale. Supporters can buy personalized bricks for $50, $100, $500 or $1,000. The bricks will be used at the entry of the building, called the "Gateway of Champions."
Organizers say the money will go directly to scholarships and renovations to the historic Ray Crowe Memorial Gymnasium. Crowe was the coach who guided Attucks to the 1955 State Basketball Championship.
People interested in buying a brick in the Gateway of Champions can contact the chairperson of the campaign, April Searcy, at (317)297-3244 or ASearcy01@aol.com
