INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) - Indianapolis Public Schools leaders plan to meet with the public Tuesday to bring to light new details about proposed budget cuts.

The cuts are tens of millions of dollars in the making and could have a big impact on students.

Superintendent Dr. Eugene White presented a draft of the cuts in a board meeting.

As the plan is written it would trim almost $27 million in school spending.

So, to reach that amount he proposes cuts in several administrative offices, some classroom cuts, and sacrifices in music education and athletics.

“We do believe that we're going to have a state economic crisis that's going to go forward in the future and we may have to continue this cycle of reduction,” said Dr. White.

Hoosiers are encouraged to take part in the discussion during a public meeting. It will be held at Arsenal Tech High School at 7 p.m.
