BLOOMINGTON, Ind. (WISH) - Indiana University is setting records.

The university is welcoming in its largest freshman class in history. More than 7,600 first year students will attend the Bloomington campus, which is about 100 more than in 2011.

School officials say every one of their 11,000 on-campus beds are taken.  An IU spokesman says they have been able to accommodate the growth, but they are looking toward the future.

“If we are going to grow significantly beyond where we are at now, that is going to have to be something that’s going to take some longer range planning,” said Mark Land, IU spokesman.

The school's total enrollment is just more than 42,000 students. The median GPA for incoming freshman has risen to 3.69
