ANGOLA, Ind. (AP) - A private university in northeast Indiana is reducing the cost of summer school in an attempt to made education more affordable.
Trine University in Angola, about 35 miles north of Fort Wayne, announced Monday it will offer more than 100 courses at a 60 percent discount this summer. Trine said it will give students the option of taking three-, six- or 12-week courses from mid-May to August.
Trine President Earl Brooks II says the school wants to be attentive to controlling education costs. The school says the discounted rate will not be available for its School of Professional Studies.
Trine isn't the first school in Indiana to announce lower costs for summer classes. Indiana University, Ball State and the University of Southern Indiana all have reduced summer tuition.
