“If we didn't have kids and it was just him and I, I would move out of state to be away him,” Amanda Foley told I-Team 8. “That's how scared I am of him. I've seen him do some crazy things.”

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) - “I don’t care anymore what anyone thinks,” said Amanda Foley. “I’m ready for it to end.”
Amanda Foley is the estranged wife of former IMPD Officer Shay Foley. Shay resigned in late April months after I-Team 8 began looking into his history.
Shay and Amanda Foley have a documented history of physical altercations. The more recent has Amanda Foley facing numerous criminal charges. She’s charged with domestic battery, battery and criminal confinement. A colorfully written police report from July of 2010 alleges she “repeatedly slam[ed] him bodily into the door with such vigor.”
Prior to that, there was an incident in January of 2009. It’s alleged then-officer Foley punched a hole in the door. Amanda refused to bring charges despite sustaining bruising according to the police report.
“If we didn't have kids and it was just him and I, I would move out of state to be away him,” Amanda Foley told I-Team 8. “That's how scared I am of him. I've seen him do some crazy things.”
Domestic cases are often “he said,” “she said” but in the case against Amanda Foley, the report’s reading is damning.
It says Amanda:
"[was] …enraged…"
"…repeatedly kicking the victim Foley…" "…infuriated…"
"The victim Shay Foley then attempted to surreptitiously remove himself from the room, to no avail."
"…suspect Amanda Foley, in rabid pursuit."
“Anybody who reads the report, the police report is just speechless,” said Amanda Foley. “It's like the most ridiculous report anyone has ever read.”
IMPD Internal Affairs is familiar with former Officer Foley. He was suspended four times without pay since 2007. One instance, in 2009, he was suspended for 60 days without pay. He was on administrative leave facing potential termination when I-Team 8 began its investigation.
Shay Foley had no comment when reached by phone.
We called the prosecutor’s office but they don’t comment on pending cases.
