2 semi crash causes traffic problems

JACKSON COUNTY, Ind. (WISH) - A two semi truck crash caused major traffic problems on I-65 in Jackson County Tuesday.

A 2012 Volvo semi tractor was pulling a box trailer near the 53 mile marker when a piece of equipment malfunctioned, causing the semi to shake violently.

Several cars were forced to swerve and avoid the tractor. One semi struck the median and then swerved into the lane, striking the Volvo. The Volvo then blocked the right lane.

Traffic was restricted to one lane and both lanes were closed for nearly an hour so the over turned trailer could be up right.

No one was injured in this incident. However, as a result of the accident, a second crash occurred on the south side on I-65.

This crash remains under investigation.
