NEW ALBANY, Ind. (AP) - Police say four people have died after a fiery, two-car crash near the Horseshoe Southern Indiana outside New Albany.

The News and Tribune and The Courier-Journal of Louisville, Ky., report three of the victims were riding in a taxi that burst into flames following the crash late Sunday on Indiana III.

Maj. Jeff Topping of the Floyd County Sheriff's Department says the taxi driver survived but was injured. Topping says the driver was off-duty at the time. The names of the other three are being withheld until relatives are notified.

Topping says the taxi driver veered left of center into the path of the other car.

A Jefferson County, Ky., coroner says the other driver, 60-year-old Thomas Stinson Jr., of Louisville, died early Monday at University of Louisville Hospital.
