71-year-old woman dies in house fire

BORDEN, Ind. (AP) - A 71-year-old Indiana woman has died following a fire at her home.  Borden Fire Chief Paul Brewer tells the Louisville Courier-Journal that Ruth Riley was found on a couch early Friday in an enclosed porch at the front of the single-story brick home.

He said she did not appear to have tried to escape.

An autopsy determined that Riley died of smoke inhalation.

Borden Indiana is located about 20 miles northwest of Louisville, Ky.
