COLUMBIA CITY, Ind. (AP) - Authorities in northern Indiana say they've found a body believed to be that of a runaway 14-year-old girl and are holding a 17-year-old boy on a preliminary charge of murder.

The Whitley County sheriff's department had been looking for Kaylin Doggendorf since Thursday. The body was found late Friday less than a mile from her rural Whitley County home, just inside the Kosciusko County border.

An autopsy was planned to determine the manner and cause of death. The girl was last seen in her home Wednesday night. Her parents reported her missing Thursday morning.

The boy was scheduled to appear in court early next week, where he is expected to be formally charged. The sheriff's department
said Saturday it didn't know whether he had a lawyer.
