INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) - Sandy, still a powerful superstorm, will move farther inland Tuesday. The effects of the system will continue to pour into Indiana, bringing a rain/snow mix and gusty winds.
Forecast 8 Meteorologist Ken Brewer said since temperatures are well above freezing, there should be little or no accumulation of snow. If there is any accumulation, it should melt fairly quickly.
Winds will stay gusty all day, with sustained winds around 20 to 30 mph and gusts in the 35 to 50 mph range. A wind advisory is still in effect until 8 p.m Tuesday evening for much of the state.
As of Tuesday morning, Marion County emergency officials were reporting only a few downed trees, but noted they have crews on standby if the situation worsens.
Weather should improve slightly for Halloween, but it will still be chilly and breezy Wednesday evening.
