PENSACOLA, Fla. (WISH) - A Hamilton County money manager is now waiting for his
sentencing.
In Florida Friday, Marcus Schrenker pleaded guilty to charges
that he crashed his plane to try and fake his own death.
Prosecutors say Schrenker was trying to avoid legal, financial, and marital problems. Schrenker faces up to 26 years in prison and hundreds of thousands of dollars in fines.
His stepmother and father spoke after the hearing. "We love our son very much. We are very thankful that he's taken responsibility for what he's done."
Schrenker also faces charges here in Indiana. Prosecutors
in Hamilton County expect he could be in court there by the end of
August.
