AG pushes back state fair settlement deadline

INDIANAPOLIS (AP) - Attorney General Greg Zoeller is giving victims of the Indiana State Fair stage collapse more time to decide whether to accept a portion of $6 million in state money that's linked a settlement with the owner and manufacturer of the stage.
Zoeller said Wednesday he's pushing back the deadline for victims to accept the money to August 1. Victims' lawyer Tony Patterson asked for the additional time to give his clients more time to review the deal.
Zoeller said last month that victims including the families of seven people who died in the collapse last August could get some of the state money if they also accepted a portion of $7.2 million settlement offered by Mid America Sound and James Thomas Engineering.
