CANAAN, Ind. (AP) - A taste of the Old West will be on display Saturday when a southern Indiana town hosts its annual Pony Express Mail Run.
Riders on horseback will carry mail 13 miles in a relay from Canaan to Madison.
All mail received Saturday will receive a souvenir postmark.
The Pony Express Mail Run is part of the annual Canaan Fall Festival. Postmaster Carolyn Hankins says the town 50 miles north of Louisville, Ky., receives hundreds of letters and postcards from around the world each year to be included in the mail run.
Anyone who wants mail included in the run should send it to the Pony Express Mail Run Station at 8988 N. Main Street, Canaan, Ind., 47224-9998.
