ATTICA, Ind. (AP) - An overnight house fire has killed a man and two young children in western Indiana.

Attica Fire Chief Ed O'Farrell confirmed the deaths from the fire that was reported about 12:15 a.m. Tuesday. The names of the victims were not immediately released. The children were 3 and 18 months old.

O'Farrell tells WLFI-TV that a woman who lives at the home arrived there to find it on fire.

Firefighters tried to enter the home twice but were driven back by flames.

The cause of the fire remained under investigation later Tuesday.

Attica is about 70 miles northwest of Indianapolis.
