FORT WAYNE, Ind. (AP) - Relatives of a 13-year-old Fort Wayne boy shot while riding his bicycle say he's improving from a gunshot wound to the hip.
Police say someone in a passing car fired several shots at Aquavion Manning as he and a friend were on bikes Saturday night. He was at first hospitalized in critical condition but family members are expecting him to recover.
Katie Manning tells The Journal Gazette she doesn't understand the shooting and that her grandson wasn't doing anything bad. Manning says the boys were on their way home after playing football and that Aquavion said someone just started shooting.
Police said investigators don't have any suspects and aren't sure whether the boy was the target in the neighborhood south of the city's downtown.
