INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) - This season’s flu vaccine is less effective than previously reported, says the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.
According to a release, the vaccine is 56 percent effective for children and adults up to age 64 and 9 percent effective for adults 65 and older.
Health officials say that although the vaccine is less effective, it still helps prevent the flu. It also reduces hospitalization and deaths.
The effectiveness of the vaccine varies each year.
