INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) - In 1987 a judge convicted Robert Evan Lee of the murder and dismemberment of Ellen Marks.
Lee received a sentence of 60 years in prison. He served 25 years and was released earlier this year for good behavior. Department of Corrections moved Lee to Jennings County. Once there, residents complained and Lee was moved.
During that time, Lee also received death threats. So DOC moved Lee again but this time they did not release his whereabouts.
The state requires released inmates to be returned to the parole district from where they were sentenced. However, the DOC moved Lee to a county outside of his parole area.
The 57-year-old was convicted before the violent offender sex registry list was established. Because of that he does not have to be included on the list.
Despite not releasing that information DOC assures Lee is being monitored and that he is currently wearing a GPS device.
