GARY, Ind. (AP) - Police have found two bodies buried in a 10-foot-high pile of horse manure at a Gary stable.

Police Cpl. Mike Barnes tells the Post-Tribune of Merrillville a man boarding his horse at the stable saw what he thought was a dead body Sunday morning and called police.

Police who searched the pile found two bodies wrapped in plastic. The Times of Munster reports one was an unidentified white man, but the other body's gender hadn't been determined because the plastic hadn't been removed. It wasn't immediately clear who the people were or how they died. Autopsies were expected to determine the causes of death.

Police also found some bones in the pile, but they are believed to be horse remains.
