INDIANAPOLIS (AP) -  Indiana took in $1.19 billion in revenues during December, beating projections by nearly 2 percent.

The figures released Monday by the State Budget Agency show state general fund revenues during the current state fiscal year have risen 3.1 over the same period last year, more than double the rate of growth needed to meet the projections issued last month. Budget Director Adam Horst says total general fund revenues through December top the Dec. 17 forecast by $70 million.

December sales tax collections totaled $549 million, $20 million above collections for the same period last year.

Corporate income tax collections totaled $185 million for the month, $32 million above collections for the same period last year.
