Deer enters Ind. home, ends up stuck in bathroom

AUBURN, Ind. (AP) - A northeastern Indiana couple was left with a mess to clean up after a deer crashed through their front door and became trapped in their bathroom.

Chris Coleman tells The Star of Auburn she was stunned Friday when the deer jumped through a window in the front door of she and her husband's Auburn home.

Coleman says the adult deer ran into the bathroom and the door closed behind it as pandemonium ensued inside the small room.

Auburn Police Sgt. Tom Weicht stunned the animal so other officers could drag it outside using a loading strap. But he says the deer died from wounds it had suffered during its struggle in the bathroom.

Coleman says her home's bathroom had recently been renovated. She calls the episode "absolutely crazy."
