INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) - The drought conditions have improved across Central Indiana, according to the drought monitor released on Thursday.

The worst categories, extreme and exceptional, are no longer in the state. Most of Indiana is still under the severe category, including Indianapolis. The northern third of the state is under a moderate drought.

Widespread rain moved through much of the state this past weekend from the leftovers of tropical storm Isaac. Indianapolis recorded 1.92 inches of rain from that event which contributed to the drought relief.
