ELKHART, Ind. (AP) - A northern Indiana hospital is planning a $74 million expansion that will add new high-tech operating rooms and private rooms for patients.
Elkhart General Hospital officials say work on the 150,000-square-foot expansion is expected to begin this fall and be completed by late 2015.
The Elkhart Truth reports the project will replace the hospital's surgical and endoscopy suites and add 44 new private patient rooms for post-surgery care.
The expansion also will include space for 10 state-of-the-art operating rooms for inpatient and outpatient surgeries.
