TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (AP) - The son of former Terre Haute Mayor Judy Anderson is thanking the public for their support after a weekend crash seriously injured Anderson and killed her husband.
Luke Anderson tells the Tribune-Star his family is grateful for the prayers and support his mother is receiving.
Brent and Judy Anderson, both age 72, were traveling Sunday along U.S. 40 when their car veered off the highway, striking a cargo trailer and a tree. Brent Anderson was pronounced dead at the scene.
Judy Anderson, who was Terre Haute's mayor from 2000 to 2004, was airlifted to an Indianapolis hospital. She remained in good condition Tuesday with head and other injuries.
Putnam County Coroner Dave Brown says an autopsy found that Brent Anderson died from a heart attack.
