INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) - Between Thanksgiving and Christmas, FedEx will deliver more than 280 million packages a 13 percent increase over last year.

Monday alone, the global shipping company expects to handle 19 million packages. That's a record. FedEx says a strong cyber shopping season is meaning big business.

Monday’s 19 million packages is roughly double what FedEx handles on a typical day.

Jeriel Williams is an operations manager at the Castleton FedEx Distribution plant which is the final staging point before a package reaches your front door. He says FedEx has online shopping to thank for the record setting day.

“Internet shipment is up E-commerce business is up business for FedEx has increased,” said Williams.

FedEx has the fifth largest air fleet in the world consisting of 660 planes.
