BUNKER HILL, Ind. (WISH) - A prison in Bunker Hill received a $3,500 grant to enhance learning and decrease illiteracy.

The Miami Correctional Facility received the large grant from the Indiana State Library and the Institute of Museum and Library Services to purchase more than 250 books for the facility's two libraries for offender use. The goal is to provide resources to support the educational needs of the offender population.

Books selected as part of the grant process include non-fiction, fiction, Spanish language Harry Potter books, medical health guides, biographies, poetry and an Occupational Outlook Handbook.

The offenders who benefits from the grant include those in prison, state hospitals and children's homes.
