INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) - For those wanting to sell their home, the Indiana Association of Realtors has some good news.

Home sales, listings and sale prices all were up for the month of October.

Closed home sales jumped more than 24 percent when compared to October of last year.  Realtors say buyers are more confident with their job security and the economy.  They say buyers are buying because they want, to not because of government programs.

“All signs are good on pricing from the actual sales price itself we have seen a steady increase on the average sales price as well as what sellers are getting as a percent of what they are asking were back at 90 percent,” said Debbie Morris, President of Metropolitan Indianapolis Board of Realtors.

The median sale price for homes increased by almost 6 percent to $117,500. This is the eleventh straight month for increased home values and the sixteenth consecutive month for year-over-year closed home sales gains.
