GREENSBURG, Ind. (WISH) - Hundreds paid their respects to the two Greensburg couples killed in Sunday night’s plane crash.

A visitation for Don and Barb Horan, and Steve and Denise Butz was held Thursday evening in Greensburg.

All in their 40s, the couples leave behind six children.

“Both families are big families and good families, and they’ll take care of those kids,” said Amy Kinker, a Greensburg resident. “But that’ll be a hole in their hearts that’ll never be mended. My heart just breaks for the children and their families.”

“That’s what big families do, come together and support each other and try to get through it the best we can,” said Vince Schroeder, a cousin of Don Horan.

Don Horan was a prominent businessman in the community, and both couples were active in their church and their children’s schools.

“It’s just such a loss. They were so involved. They were church minded, sports minded. The type of people that just make the community,” said Kinker.

Lines at the visitation stretched around the building at times. The wait was more than an hour.

“I know the family personally, and it’s absolutely remarkable. I’ve never seen anything to this extent, to this regard. We're just awestruck,” said Marge Bruns, who spoke for St. Mary’s School. “A small community like this, this is what you see. And this is wonderful.”

A joint funeral for the couples is set for Friday at 10 a.m. in the Greensburg High School gym.
