AUSTIN, Ind. (WISH) - A 47-year-old Tennessee truck driver was killed in an accident early Friday morning.
Around 2:30 a.m. Friday morning, a semi pulling a 53-foot box trailer crossed the bridge on I-65 over US 31 when the driver lost control of the vehicle. The vehicle struck the guardrail and then drove between the guardrail and the concrete bridge on the northbound side.
The semi then went down an embankment and struck the concrete barrier. The trailer detached during impact and went through the cab, killing the driver.
The name of the driver has not yet been released.
US 31 remains closed in the area. Stay tuned to WISHTV.com for updates.
