INDIANAPOLIS (AP) - Indiana residents who want to be added to a state-run Do Not Call registry have more time to sign up.
The attorney general's office says it has extended the registration deadline to midnight EST on Monday to give people more time during the busy holiday week.
Signing up is designed to prevent legitimate telemarketers from calling or texting numbers, and it allows people to file complaints with the attorney general's office if they receive unwanted calls.
More than two million phone lines are registered on the list.
Since 2009 the state has obtained 50 settlements against robocallers and Do Not Call violators.
The updated list will take affect January 1, 2013.
