ELKHART, Ind. (AP) - A fire destroyed the administrative offices of a northern Indiana public television station, but the station remains on the air.
The fire broke out Sunday afternoon in three connected modular buildings that house the offices of WNIT-TV in Elkhart. The station's broadcast facilities are in a separate building and were not effected.
WNIT-TV president and general manager Mary Pruess says the station's programming, business and development offices were destroyed.
More than 20 people work in the offices, but none were there when the fire broke out.
Two firefighters suffered minor injuries battling the fire.
Fire investigators say 80 percent of the roof either burned or fell into the structure. The cause has not been determined.
