INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) - Indiana is sending additional public safety crews to the East Coast in response to Hurricane Sandy and the winter storm that followed.
An Incident Management Assistance Team is being deployed to replace the existing team in the City of Long Beach.
"Indiana continues to be engaged in helping the East Coast," said Joe Wainscott, director of the Indiana Department of Homeland Security. "We are pleased that we can sustain the response in the aftermath of these severe weather events. Indiana is very fortunate to have such capable and dedicated emergency response professionals who are willing to go above and beyond their daily call of duty to assist our neighbors during this disaster."
The 37-person team left Friday and will arrive on scene late Saturday.
