SEYMOUR, Ind. (WISH) - Federal and state authorities ordered several trucks transporting perishable food off the road last week.
Indiana State Police, along with representatives from the state Health Department and the U.S. Food and Drug Administration, worked together Thursday on Interstate 65 in Jackson County. From 6:30 to 11:30 a.m., officials inspected 37 trucks. Of those, four were ordered off the road due to violations. Two drivers were also placed out of service.
ISP said a total of 49 violations were found, and four traffic citations were also issued. No food products had to be destroyed, ISP said. The Department of Health had not issued details of the violations.
