JACKSON COUNTY, Ind. (WISH) - Police are investigating a mysterious crash that occurred Saturday evening.

According to a release from the Indiana State Police, a 61-year-old woman was driving southbound on I-65 when a large tire struck the windshield of her van. The driver lost control of the vehicle, struck the divider, and crossed into the northbound lanes. Her vehicle was heavily damaged by a semi that side swiped the front end of the van.

The woman suffered sever cuts to her face and a possible concussion. The driver of the semi was not injured.

Troopers are searching the area for the vehicle that lost the tire. Police believe the tire came from a large vehicle. Anyone with information regarding the "mystery" vehicle should contact the Indiana State Police, Versailles District at 812-689-5000.
