Man rescued from water well

TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (AP) - A western Indiana man who became stuck in a water well while removing a pump was rescued after spending about an hour below ground.

The Tribune-Star reports that 78-year-old Glenden Campbell of Terre Haute was rescued from his home's well Friday morning after his foot became stuck while he was removing the well's water pump.

Emergency crews called to Campbell's home pulled him from the well about an hour after he became trapped underground.
