HUNTINGTON, Ind. (AP) - Police in northeastern Indiana say a man surrendered to officers after a standoff that lasted more than an hour.

Huntington's police chief says officers were called Sunday night to the city's Memorial Park about a domestic dispute and a short time later found the 42-year-old man with a shotgun inside a car parked on a nearby street.

Police Chief E.J. Carroll tells WANE-TV that officers were able to talk the man into surrendering without anyone being hurt. Carroll says at least two other weapons were found inside the car.

The Journal Gazette reports the man was taken to a hospital for evaluation and that the county prosecutor's office will decide whether he will face any criminal charges.
