BIRDSEYE, Ind. (AP) - A body that was found Saturday in southern Indiana's Patoka Lake has been identified as that of a Tell City man.
Indiana conservation officers said Sunday that relatives and close friends helped them identify the body as that of 55-year-old Terry Alvey.
An autopsy performed Sunday by the Orange County coroner determined that Alvey's preliminary cause of death was consistent with drowning. Toxicology results are pending.
Alvey's body was found shortly after noon Saturday by a recreational boater about 50 feet from the shoreline of the lake that's about 50 miles south of Bloomington. He was not wearing a life-jacket, but a small raft was discovered floating nearby.
