VIGO COUNTY, Ind. (WISH) - Vigo County Sheriff's Deputies and Honey Creek Fire were dispatched to a motor vehicle crash with injury near the intersection of SR 63 and Springhill Drive Saturday.
On scene, officials found a 2011 Harley Davidson Motorcycle was involved in a crash and it had only one rider, Jeffrey James of Terre Haute.
A Lifeline Helicopter landed on scene and determined the injuries were too severe for helicopter transport and the victim was transported to Terre Haute Regional Hospital for treatment via ambulance.
According to WTHI , the victim was later pronounced dead at the hospital.
Officials say the victim was riding the motorcycle south on SR 63 when, for an unknown reason, he was thrown from the motorcycle.
The victim was not wearing a helmet and suffered massive head trauma and severe bleeding.
A toxicology report from the hospital showed the victims blood alcohol level to be .182 percent.
