NEW ALBANY, Ind. (AP) - Southern Indiana police have arrested a New Albany man in his wife's 1990 slaying, citing new evidence that's recently emerged in the case.
The Courier-Journal of Louisville, Ky., and The News and Tribune report that 54-year-old Christopher A. Baxter was arrested Thursday on one count of murder in the June 1990 death of 32-year-old Robin Lynn Baxter.
Floyd County Prosecutor Keith Henderson said the unsolved case was recently reopened after new information came to light. He did not elaborate, but The News and Tribune reports court records indicate an informant in a nearby jail claims Baxter confessed twice to his wife's murder.
Robin Baxter disappeared after she and her husband had argued while visiting friends. Her body was found three days later in the Ohio River along Louisville's Shawnee Park.
