INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) - All six Marion County Hospitals have new restrictions in place to battle the flu, and they began on Friday.
The restrictions are also in place at Riverview Hospital in Noblesville, IU Health in Carmel, Fishers and Avon, St. Vincent in Carmel, Lafayette, Anderson, and Elwood, as well as St. Francis Health in Mooresville and Carmel.
“We believe, because of these strong measures that we are going to put in place, to help us reach our peak very rapidly and start to see a down turn in our numbers,” Dr. Virginia Caine with the Marion County Health Department said.
The number of flu deaths in Indiana has now reached 27.
The Marion County Health Department is holding a free flu shot clinic from 1 to 5 p.m. Friday at its offices, 4012 N. Rural St.
