North Vernon woman dies in house fire

NORTH VERNON, Ind. (The Republic) - A Jennings County woman was killed in a fire Friday morning.
Tijera A. Waggoner, 59, was found dead inside of her home with a pet after firefighters in North Vernon brought a house fire under control, 24-Hour News 8's news partner The Republic reports.
Officers say that during the fire, neighbors tried to knock on the door of the home to see if anyone was inside.
The home was destroyed.
The fire is currently under investigation.
