SOUTH BEND, Ind. (AP) - Notre Dame is expected to sign its best recruiting class in at least five years when the letters of intent finish rolling in.

Recruiting analyst Tom Lemming of CBS College Sports says the Fighting Irish are expected to sign their best crop of recruits since the 2008 class that included wide receiver Michael Floyd, tight end Kyle Rudolph, defensive back Robert Blanton and linebacker Darius Fleming. Each was an NFL draft pick.

Lemming says the impact players in this year's class are expected to be linebacker Jaylon Smith from Fort Wayne and running backs Greg Bryant and Tarean Folston of Florida. He also says the Irish also are bringing in some standout offensive linemen, led by 6-9 tackle Mike McGlinchey of Philadelphia and 6-6 tackle Steve Elmer of Midland, Mich.
