DYER, Ind. (AP) - Police are investigating the deaths of a man and woman whose bodies were found in a northwestern Indiana home.
Officers found the bodies Monday after a relative asked police to conduct a welfare check at the residence because she had been unable to to contact anyone at the home about 10 miles southwest of Gary.
The Lake County coroner's office says 45-year-old Rhonda Neher was found in the kitchen, dead of a stab wound in her chest. Authorities have not identified the man or stated his cause of death. The woman's death was listed as a homicide.
Dyer police Detective Sgt. Don Foley says the man and woman may have been dead for several days.
County assessor's records indicate the house is owned by Larry and Rhonda Neher.
