OAKLAND CITY, Ind. (AP) - Angry parents filled the auditorium of a southern Indiana school where a custodian allegedly made meth using a dangerous, explosion-prone method to demand answers on how illegal drug-making could happen inside a school.
The Evansville Courier & Press reports parents at Friday's meeting at the East Gibson School Corp.'s main campus building peppered school officials with questions about the Dec. 21 discovery of a meth lab inside the Oakland City building.
Some parents asked why the building that houses a high school, middle school and elementary school wasn't evacuated when a 2-liter plastic bottle that's used in an explosion-prone "one-pot" method of making meth was found in a storage area.
Authorities have issued an arrest warrant for 42-year-old school custodian Michael C. Shafer in that incident.
