WARSAW, Ind. (AP) - Northern Indiana police are searching for a black Lexus and its driver involved in a police pursuit that reached such high speeds one of its passengers was thrown from the car during a turn.
The Journal Gazette reports Warsaw police tried to stop the Lexus Monday night, setting off a pursuit that reached speeds of up to 140 mph.
A police report says that as the Lexus approached Milford, a man was thrown from the speeding car when it turned onto a county road.
Police say the passenger was flown by helicopter to a Fort Wayne hospital in serious condition. The police report says the man told officers a drug transaction had occurred and that the driver had displayed a handgun and threatened to kill him.
