Pedestrian killed walking on I-64

LYNNVILLE, Ind. (AP) — Police say a person was struck and killed while walking in a lane of Interstate 64 in southwestern Indiana.

Police say a car struck the person Tuesday night in the highway's eastbound lanes near the Warrick County town of Lynnville. The Evansville Courier & Press and WFIE-TV report that investigators didn't immediately know why the person was walking along the highway about 20 miles north of Evansville.

The identity of the person killed wasn't immediately released.
