SOUTH BEND, Ind. (AP) - An autopsy found that a 23-year-old woman who died while being held at the St. Joseph County Jail in South Bend had three plastic bags containing methamphetamine inside her body.

Authorities say Stephanie Braasch of Argos died Tuesday morning in her holding cell. She had been booked into the jail March 7 on suspicion of a drug offense, but she was never formally charged.

St. Joseph County Prosecutor's office said in a statement that the bags found in her vaginal cavity were broken and leaking. Police say another bag was found inside her when she was booked at the jail.

Police say Braasch told them she only had concealed one bag. The county coroner's office has not determined a cause of death, pending the completion of toxicology tests.
